An assistive technology device is any thing that improves the functional performance of a student with a disability.
Assistive technology services assist in the selection, acquisition, and use of an assistive technology device. Assistive technology (AT) services include evaluation within the child's customary environment; acquiring the device(s); customizing, repairing or replacing device(s); training the student, parents, and professionals/others involved with the student.
School districts are required to provide AT devices and services that are needed by a student to participate in or make progress in the general education curriculum. IEP teams must consider whether AT devices/services are needed at least at every IEP meeting.

CCESC AT Lending Library
Columbiana County partner school districts may borrow library items for the purpose of student assessment. Most items may be borrowed for up to four weeks.
- Determine potential tools based on a feature matching process (such as SETT or SIFTS). Refer to the CCESC AT Loan Library list below to see if we have the item(s) you need.
- Complete the request form below. The AT consultant will contact you to schedule a trial and arrange delivery/pickup.
- The student’s team members will conduct the trial and collect data on effectiveness. The AT consultant can provide technical assistance in setting up the trial or in use of the device, if needed.
- The AT will be returned to CCESC in the same condition it was borrowed. Any missing parts or non-working devices will be the responsibility of the district.
